New Frontiers of Urban Informality at University of Sheffield

I term this new approach the ‘Feminist Urban Informal-Ecological Framework’. This framework specifically focuses on the nexus of the informal and the ecological in urban contexts.

Panel 23 - Informal Economies in an Age of Environmental Crisis (Session 1)

In this presentation, I’ll interrogate how informal livelihoods are governed in the context of worsening climate change. I seek to identify gaps in discourses on climate change policy and governance of informal economic actors with a focus on street vendors and market traders in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (Dar).
